15 Jul Achieving Your Life Vision
What does it take to achieve your destiny, your purpose, your passion or your calling?
–
In the famous words of Nike shoes, just do it.
But we need to muster some courage, will power or faith.
Do you believe in destiny?
Have you ever thought about it?
When was the last time you felt massive excitement or humming deep in your gut?
Quite often, I will play a favourite song and as I start singing my state will change immediately.
If I am feeling low, I’ll immediately feel better.
If I am having an average day, I’ll instantly feel inspired.
And if I am already feeling on top of my game, I’ll feel like anything is possible – an unstoppable force or confidence within me.
–
How about yourself – what is your destiny or your calling?
It took me 39 years to simply ‘get it’ and I’m still learning.
Perhaps it was my stubborness or fear of failure that held me back.
It’s funny that I loved music more than anything since I was a kid and even began recording my my own songs on cassette tapes? Remember cassettes?
Whatever it was that held me back it doesn’t matter.
In order to find my purpose, or part of it at least, I just allowed myself to open up, clear out the noise from the city, from the people around me and from within me.
–
Here’s the million dollar question: how do we move forward once we find our calling?
We have family, friends, work and many other obligations that fill every hour of every day, not to mention our own minds, that are blocking us!
When I knew I found my passion, there were still many obstacles like a huge wall blocking me.
It was obvious, the only way I was going to realize my passion, was to consciously plan to have some consistent ‘me time’, for reflection, meditation, recreation and just enjoying life.
Doing this is also claiming our individual right to freedom, finding out who we really are and what we are truly capable of.
In a new vision life plan I created, using the 7 Whys, as shared by the ingenious Dean Graziosi who wrote, Millionaire Success Habits, helped me to realize my potential and vision.
This enabled me to commit to having 1 day per week purely to myself, with no distractions or responsibilities.
Despite this being a challenge, I know in my heart it will be worth it, as I already feel a weight has been lifted and a sense of excitement for what is about to come.
I will be able to break out the mountain bike collecting dust in storage, re-string and jam on my guitar and reconnect with old friends.
What is a better investment than yourself?

Posted at 10:19h, 16 JulyThis is a humbling reminder to not forget ourselves while living in what appears to be this day-to-day race, hustle and bustle of material gains and losses. For myself, not forgetting myself means living a life grounded within what I perceive to be my purpose. But I was not always clear on what my purpose and vision for my life was until I took the time to genuinely search deep inside and ask myself what that was.
Thanks you for allowing us this space through ‘Wisdom Connections’ that inspires and evokes us to consider becoming better people-better individuals who serve ourselves, our loved ones, our communities and the world at large. This is rare a rare space to find nowadays. Especially while living in a world wide web that is drowning in technology and in the everyday, rushed, hungry driven world, of self-driven pursuits and desires!
